Attending were MRS. L. E. SHULL, MRS. J. N. CAHOON, MRS. J. H. HENRY, MRS. THOMAS HENRY, “GRANDMA KEMP,” MRS. ED TURNER, MRS. B. F. HAMILTON, MRS. FRED GOODMAN, MRS. ERNEST GOODMAN, MRS. W. A. SAMPLES, MRS. LEE LONDON, MRS. WHTIE, MRS. P. B. TURNER, MRS. CLAUD TURNER, MRS. W. L. CULVER, MRS. MONA DALLAS, MRS. ZELLA ACRES, MRS. ANNIE JERNIGAN, and MRS. JOE B. STEELE. MRS. J. E. YOUREE was hostess at a party honoring her little granddaughter, BOBBIE DELL WAGGONER on her sixth birthday in the home of MRS. M. O. TUCKER. DOROTHY GANN and THEO COLSON were winners in a contest. Pineapple ice cream and cookies were served to DOROTHY GANN, ANNA MAE COPELAND, ANNA LOUISE SAMPLES, JOY DALE POLLARD, LAURELLA KENDALL, TED COLSON, THEO COLSON, SHIRLIE JEAN WAGGONER, BILLIE TUCKER and the honorees. MRS. J. M. “GRANDMA” HENSON returned Wednesday after spending a week with her daughter MRS. C. W. ASTON at Ardmore. On the Fourth, she attended the Pittman reunion which is an annual affair of the family. There were 80 in attendance and was enjoyed in spite of the hot weather. She was accompanied home by her son G. E. HENSON, Mrs. HENSON, daughter FREDDA and Mr. ROBINSON, all of Shawnee. Mr. and Mrs. F. C. KEETON and son CLIFF left to spend a month in California. They were accompanied as far as Alquerque, New Mexico by MRS. GEORGE REEDY who will visit her mother. MRS. WEBSTER MITCHELL returned from visiting her sister MRS. JEAN REYNOLDS of Chillicothe, Texas. Her brother JIMMIE LOYD accompanied her to visit here. Mr. RAY and BRUCE PIPER of Oklahoma City spent the Fourth with their aunt, MRS. CHARLES JONES and family. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. SWINNEY and family, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. HAMILTON and RAYMOND spent Monday and Tuesday at Turner Falls. W. L. CULVER and wife, W. A. SAMPLES and family, E. C. GARNER, LEE LONDON and family, L. D. THOMAS and family spent the Fourth at Turner Falls. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. CAIN and sons ELMO CARROLL AND ELMER CAIN spent Saturday at Wilson, attending the show and visiting relatives. LLOYD CAIN and family, MRS. BILL CAIN and family of Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. FRANK COLLIER of Temple visited the home of L. D. CAIN. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. THOMPSON and family, Mr. and Mrs. BERT DILLON and daughter IRENE, and OWEN LONGEST, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. BECKHAM, MRS. OSCAR ATHEY and family, WILLIE VANWINKLE and family of County Line, MRS. IKE HARMON and son, Mrs. BILL ANDERSON spent Monday to Thursday at Craterville. KELSEY HENDERSON visited his father J. T. HENDERSON. MRS. NOLA HUBBARD and daughter DORIS and MISS BRIMLEY of Ranger, Texas visited Mr. and Mrs. ED BEAN. They were en route to the World Fair. ELMO CARROLL took over the Mistletoe Express agency which has been in charge of MRS. NEVADA CHRISTLEY. MRS. VOLNEY HAMM and baby son of Wichita Falls spent the Fourth in the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. HAMM. They were en route to McCurtain to visit her parents, Mr. and Mr. J. A. LEARD. They were accompanied from Ringling by M. E. HAMM Jr. MISS MARIE HAMM returned from visiting Mr. and Mrs. CORTEZ HAMM at Vernon, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Cortez Hamm and Volney Hamm were in Ringling visiting Mr. and Mrs. M. E. HAMM. MISS LOUISE BILLIARD and brother J. B. of El Paso, Texas visited the CAGLE home; they were en route home after visiting the World Fair. MRS. ED BEAN, MRS. S. O. POOL and MISS QUIDA JACKSON left for San Antonio to visit Mrs. Bean’s daughter HENRIETTA and CORINNE. Ringling, July 15 RS. H. E. BARNES of Pittsburg, Texas is visiting her son M. E. HAMM Sr. in Ringling. The Junior Missionary Society of the Methodist Church met at the home of MARTHA RUTH GARNER, with MARY MERKEL STEELE as leader. Attending were MARY B. WYCHE, THEO COLSON, LOUISE SAMPLES, MARY MERKLE STEELE, MARY SWINNEY, ANNA KATHERINE SWINNEY, MARTHA RUTH GARNER, DICKEY GARNER, FRANCIS LAMBETH of Hugo, and sponsor MRS. A. C. SWINNEY. MRS. C. D. GAMBEL went to San Antonio where her father A. L. SIKES is very ill. MRS. E. M. GAMEL returned from Levelland, Texas where her brother, J. D. RILEY, died June 30. Mr. and Mrs. JOE HARPER and family returned from Paris, Texas where they attended the funeral of his sister, RMS. J. A. HEFFLEFINGER, who lived in Sulphur Saturday, leaving four children. Rev. HARRY DEVORE, pastor of the First Methodist Church at Ardmore, delivered an interesting lecture at the Baptist Church on the beer question. Assistant scoutmaster FRED G. GOODMAN left with a number of scouts to attend the encampment at Camp Chapman. GEORGE WILMOTH, who was hauling brick from Healdton to the Ringling gin, became overheated and received medical treatment. MRS. M. O. TUCKER and son BILLIE visited T. J. TUCKER, ill at Loco. Mr. and Mrs. JOHN HARVELL Sr., Mr. and Mrs. JOHN HARVELL Jr., Mr. and Mrs. WADE HARVELL, VIOLA KENDAL and daughter LOUELLA left for Tulsa where the men have employment and the families will live there. Mr. and Mrs. M. O. TUCKER and son BILLIE, MRS. J. E. YOUREE and granddaughters BOBBIE DELL and SHIRLEY WAGGONER spent Sunday at Loco at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. TUCKER. Mr. and Mrs. FISH just returned from visiting relatives at Sedalia, Warrensburg, Lamar, Joplin and Kingsville, Missouri and Kansas City. A big family reunion of Mr. Fish’s family was held at Kingsville, the first time the family had all been together in 27 years. The trip was an enjoyable one, but was saddened by the tragic death of a niece, MRS. LENA LIONS, soon after their visit with her. They were 150 miles on their way home when they had news of her death, returned for the funeral. MRS. ED BEAN, MRS. S. O. POOL and MISS QUIDA JACKSON returned Monday from San Antonio where they visited Mrs. Bean’s daughters, HENRIETTA and CORINNE. Friends of MISS LUCILLE ROSE were surprised to learn of her marriage Sunday morning to TEL TALPAIN of Wirt. The wedding took place at the home of Rev. C. A. CUMBIE. While the vows were being read by Rev. Cumbie, JOY DALE POLLARD held the Bible. Their many friends wish them a joyous voyage on the ocean of life. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. WALTER ROSE and son WILLIAM, Rev. and Mrs. C. A. Cumbie, and daughters MIDGE and PAULINE and Mr. and Mrs. BUSTER COLLINS of Oklahoma City. Rev. T. A. FOWLER and wife and son, WENDELL, and MRS. FRED GOODMAN and son RAYMOND went to Camp Chapman where Rev. Fowler remained as scoutmaster with the boy scout troop. Mr. and Mrs. BILL JONES and his mother MRS. RUSSELL JONES OF Wirt visited the WALTER ROSE home. A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. LEE MCINTIRE Wednesday night. Mr. McIntire has charge of the cream station here. MRS. J. T. NEAL, sister of GROVER MOORE, and MRS. H. ROMINE of Coalgate visited the MOORE home. CLARA DELL PHILLIPS returned to Oklahoma City after visiting relatives here. MISS ELIZABETH KEPLINGER is visiting in Guthrie with the family of MRS. J. A. ROGERS of Wilson. MISS GRACE LEFTWICH returned home to Arlington, Texas after visiting her aunt MRS. W. A. SAMPLES. Mr. and Mrs. BOONE WILSON and baby from Carnegie arrived to visit relatives. They were accompanied by BESS MOORE of Madill and JUNIOR MOORE of Kilgore, Texas. MISS NORA HARRIS of Oklahoma City is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. L. L. HARRIS in Cornish. MRS. JAMES FLETCHER of Cornish is visiting relatives in California. PHILLIS FREEZE of Cornish celebrated her 8th birthday with a party July 17. Attending were HAZEL DONALD, DORIS HOWARD, NELLIE JO WADE, BILLIE ALBIN, CHARLEY BURGESS, ALLEN COPELAND and WANDA BURGESS. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. GUINN of the Prairie Chapel community and their family spent Sunday in Cornish at the home of Dr. and Mrs. W. C. BURGESS. Mr. and Mrs. ARDELL GILCREASE, ALZADA GILCREASE, ALEENE BILLINGSLEY, and MRS. R. L. HERRINGTON left for Santa Fe, New Mexico to spend their vacation with their mother and grandmother, MRS. R. A. GILCREASE. MARVIN ACREE went to Greenville, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. WALLACE ROGERS, MRS. EARMAN HOOSER, W. E. DODSON and MRS. W. E. ROCHE were at Ada to visit Mrs. Roche’s mother MRS. R. E. ESKEW. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. SWINNEY and family, B. F. HAMILTON and family left to spend their vacation in northern and eastern states. They will visit the World Fair at Chicago. B.
