FRED HEIPLE received news of the death of her brother, ASH BAXTER, aged 62, who died Monday at the home of his son at Tulsa. He body was taken to Lexington for burial yesterday in which city he had lived for many years. He farmed near Lexington for awhile, alter was in the mercantile business there, quitting when his health demanded it. Mr. Baxter was an early day citizen of Davis and was engaged in farming. He left here about 30 years ago. He had been in failing health for four or five years. His wife and six children survive. Kiwanis Officers R. V. GARRETT was chosen as president of the Davis Kiwanis club at luncheon yesterday when the annual election took place. He will succeed HERBERT GARRETT who was elected district trustee. Other officers elected: PAGE WILLIS, vice pres., ALFRED HUTCHINS, treas., Directors, SAM P. ADES, FAY L. CROSSETT, JACK GARRISON, G. L. MILNER, KEY WOLF, J. C. KELLY, and L. H. GREER. Married MISS FERVILLE WILLIAMS and G. H. WINN motored to Springer and were married Thanksgiving day. They were accompanied by MISS ADEBELLE ANDERSON and MISS MARGARET MONTGOMERY. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JACK ANDERSON of the Colbert community. The groom work for the Natural Gas Co. at Clemscot. They have gone there to make their home. BEARDEN gave her Junior B.Y.P.U. a big Thanksgiving party in her home. The president, MISS LOUISE BEARDEN, had the games nicely arranged. The first game was Feather, then Loading the Mayflower, third, KORN KOUNT, fourth, Thanksgiving Dinner. Our leader then took the group captain books No. 1 and No. 2 and matched names and called to draw stick candy to match. We also practiced B. Y. P. U. yells. After all were served, members assembled around the piano and sang Thanksgiving songs, our farewell song, Onward Fellow Juniors.
