They were married in Sulphur. The bride is the charming daughter of MRS. TIDWELL who resides in the east side of Davis. The groom is an industrious young man of Davis and was operator of the picture show for quite awhile and now is employed at the Davis Garage. His parents live west of Davis. The Draughons to Leave The work of packing the JOS. W. DRAUGHON & Co. stock of hardware for shipment was begun this morning. The stock will be shipped to Ardmore where the company will establish a business. The removing of the business marks the passing from our midst one of the pioneer families of Davis. Coming to this city more than a quarter of a century ago, the Draughons have been closely identified with the city's progress and welfare… Prominent Mississippi Visitors The past week JUDGE W. N. LEWIS has enjoyed a visit from his brother, REV. E. S. LEWIS and his father, HON. J. A. LEWIS, both of Mississippi. Reunion at Turner Falls A very interesting reunion of former Davis young people was held at Turner Falls. Some time ago invitations were mailed out to persons who were members of the young crowd here about 18 years ago, asking them to meet in reunion at Turner Falls. Old times were talked over, scenes and incidents of school days recalled a general good time was had by those present: MRS. MATTIE BROWN, nee ROGERS of Ada; JIM BULLARD and family and MISS LEE of Ada; PAYNE KELLY and wife of Ada; MRS. MABEL HEALD nee MURPHY of Healdton; HARDEN KELLY and wife of Kansas City; ERNEST MASHBURN and family of Shawnee; MRS. OMA NORMAN, JAMES REEDY and family, JAMES F. ELLIS and family, WELCOME WARE and family, SAM E. KELLY and family, all of Davis. MISS GRACE EDWARDS has resigned her position as bookkeeper at the First State Bank. MRS. HOWARD GILLIAM leaves Sunday for Oklahoma City to visit her daughter MRS. C. S. CHURCHILL. Good rubber tier surrey for sale or will trade for single buggy. J. T. WEST MRS. W. J. MORIARTY and daughter MISS VERA are visiting their son and brother DAN MORIARTY at Sapulpa this week. ROY WARD and family of Oklahoma City are visiting J. H. YOUNG and family this week. Mr. Ward and Mrs. Young have known each other since childhood but haven't seen each other in several years. REV. W. F FERGUSON left Monday for Medicine Mound, Texas to visit his brothers SANFORD, GEORGE and HOLMES, and will hold a meeting there. He then goes to Quitman, Texas to conduct a meeting. Mrs. Ferguson is visiting relatives at Iowa Park, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. GRANT of Clarksville, Texas are spending a couple of weeks at Sulphur visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. T. HARDEN and other relatives here. Mrs. Grant and Mrs. Harden are sisters. MRS. FANNIE MASTER of Fort Worth visited Davis friends this week and now is visiting her father at Sulphur. Mrs. Master formerly lived here but has not been here in 16 years. She is better known as MISS FANNIE BROOKS. Mr. and Mrs. G. M. MARSHALL, MRS. LENA SMITH and OSCAR CHITWOOD after visiting the family of W. Y. CHITWOOD and other relatives here for a few days left for Pooleville from which place they will return to their home at Chico, Texas. A revival meeting at the tabernacle in West Sulphur will be held Aug. 5 to 21. PASTOR H. P. HUFFMAN of the Nazarene Church will be the preacher in charge. On Sunday, Aug. 7, singing classes of Murray County, led by H. H. STRINGFELLOW, will render special singing beginning at 9 a. m. MRS. DEWITT MCCLATCHY, Mr. and Mrs. WILBUR HUNT, and MISS HIGHTOWER of Olney, Texas are visiting Mr. and Mrs. B. B. WRIGHT and will attend the Baptist Assembly which starts next week. Mrs. McClatchy is Mr. Wright's sister. Mr. Hunt is a prominent oil man and president of two banks. Over 300 were in attendance at the Carter County Agricultural camp at Turner Falls last week. Among the prominent state officials who were present and made addresses to the girls and boys were GOV. J. B. A. ROBERTSON, President J. A. WHITEHURST of the State Board of Agriculture and State Superintendent R. H. WILSON. REVS. WILSON of Purcell, KENDALL of Lawton, STEWART of Ardmore, WEBB of Sulphur, ANGLIN of Healdton, and YOUNG of Davis made a trip to Turner Falls to look over the Methodist Assembly grounds and see about the improvements that are to be made. At the recent assembly held at the Falls, it was decided to make some permanent improvements before the next assembly is held. See me for big time Poland China pigs. Can be registered. EDWIN HARTNESS of Davis. MISS INEZ SWINK of Valliant is the guest of MISS ELIZABETH ELLIS. R. C. KAY left Sunday to visit his mother at San Angelo, Texas. MRS. BONNIE LEE RICHARDSON is visiting her aunt, MRS. R. L. FREEMAN. MRS. E. H. BARNETT returned from visiting relatives at Caldwell, Texas. MISS REITHA SHARPE of Wynnewood visited MISS OLIVE ELLIS. MRS. T. H. GEORGE and children left Saturday to visit her parents at Denton, Texas. MRS. MOLLIE VAWTER left last week to visit her sister, MRS. WEDDEL at Muskogee. MISS BLANCHE VAUGHN of Norman arrived yesterday and is the guest of her aunt, MRS. B. L. GOOCH. After visiting her parents here, MRS. F. S. LAUHON returned to her home at Eufaula. I will be very much obliged if the party who took the gutter from the barber shop building will return it. MRS. H. GERARD. W. F. MORRIS of Alex is visiting his brother, J. E. MORRIS here. I would buy a few milk cows, 3 to 5 years old at market price. D. F. ELLIS MRS. VALYNA COHN and MISS CLARA TAYLOR are the guest of the BURGESS family this week. J. A. WILLIS left last Thursday for Tennessee to attend the beside of his brother who is very ill. MISS THELMA HIXSON of Shawnee spent the first of the week in Davis visiting the family of her uncle, M. R. DABNEY, at Alvord, Texas. MRS. GERTIE BROWN returned Monday to her home at Smithfield, Texas after visiting friends and relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. D. P. HATCHCOCK of Bowie, Texas are visiting her parents, Mr. and Ms. C. O. WARREN. Rev. and Mrs. C. L. ELDER of Greenville, Texas will arrive Saturday to visit Mr. and Mrs. B. WOLF. CLIFF TURNER left Friday for Snyder, Oklahoma where he has accepted a position in the shoe department of a department store. MRS. C. L. MASHBURN of Shawnee spent a few days with her daughter, MRS. CHARLES STRICKLAND and friends. MRS. J. A. HURT and two children arrived from Checotah to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. BIRD. Mr. and Mrs. PAYNE KELLY of Ada were here Saturday and Sunday. On their return home they were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. HARDEN KELLY who visited them a couple of days. M. WHITE and nephew of Tishomingo were greeting friends here. Mr. White was in the jewelry business in Davis about 20 years ago. HON. L. L. BLACKBURN, an attorney of Baird, Texas, was here to see his sister, MRS. W. L. BIRD. Mr. Blackburn practiced law in Davis in the early days of our town's life. Glad to report that MRS. W. L BIRD is much better and is expected to be able to be up within a few days. MRS. E. M. FRANCIS and MRS. D. R. FLEMING of Oklahoma MISS L. N. A. FRANCIS of Crystal Springs, Arkansas are visiting the families of O. C. and P. T. FRANCIS here. The latter is a cousin to the Francis brothers. WYATT CHIGLEY will move his stock of hardware into the building being vacated by JOS. W. DRAUGHON. MRS. J. P. BALDWIN left last week for Grand Junction, Colorado to remain with her husband who now makes that city his headquarters. Mr. Baldwin is in the insurance business. C. E. KING, farmer of the Chigley neighborhood, was in town today and said he is a grandpa now, an 8 ¼ pounds daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. JESS HOOKS of Chigley yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. JOE B. PALMER left last week to visit relatives at Amarillo, Texas. They made the trip in their car. MRS. R. DUNN accompanied them and is visiting the family of BEN GOLDING there. The Benevolent Society will meet August 2 with MRS. H. N. HORNER. MISSES ANNA FAYE KENNEDY, NETTIE MAE PRICE and ELSIE CREWS are attending the Young People Christian Endeavor conference at Enid this week. MRS. G. W. YOUNG of Berwyn, accompanied by her grandson, G. W. SETLIFF, arrived Tuesday to visit her daughter, MRS. WYATT CHIGLEY. HON. U. T. REXROAT was in our City Tuesday. He was formerly representative to the legislature from Carter County, but is now a citizen of Sulphur. SAM K. BIRD returned Saturday from Camp Knox, Kentucky where he attended a five weeks encampment and instruction course in the R. O. T. C. He reports a fine trip. MRS. A. J.
