There were 25 additions to the church by baptism and 5 by letter. The youngest baptized was CARL MANNING age 11. The oldest was GRANDPA PEASTER, age 72. The church gave REV. R. D. BIRDWELL a unanimous call to pastor them next associational year. REV. J. M. MARTIN died a few days ago and his body was shipped to Wynnewood for burial Monday. We failed to learn the cause of his death. Rev. Martin was 76 years of age and lived in Wynnewood many years. He was a Presbyterian minister and many years ago was the pastor of the Presbyterian church at Davis. MISS CAROLYN PULLEN left today for Altus to take a position as teacher in the school. She taught there last year. W. W. SHORT has purchased the SAM EDWARDS place near W. A. GABEL's residence. The purchase was made by a trade. EDGAR BIRD of Arlington, Texas came in to visit his brother, W. L. BIRD. Mr. Bird is a traveling salesman for the N. K. FAIRBANKS Co. COL. JERRY MCCLUSKEY and W. H. RICHARDSON motored up from Ardmore and transacted business and mingle among old time friends here. Mr. and Mrs. JAMES W. KYLE left today for Stillwater to re-enter the A. & M. College. They have been here the past month visiting Mrs. Kyle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. MOGG. OCAY GETTLE came in last week and visited homefolks and friends. He has been living in California the past 14 months. He left yesterday for Lebanon, Tennessee to enter the Cumberland Law School. Mr. and Mrs. HILARY STEDMAN returned Monday to Cameron, Texas after visiting Davis relatives. They were accompanied home in their car by FRANK STEDMAN, who will spend the week in Cameron. MRS. R. L. FREEMAN and MRS. O. M. WOODWARD attended the wedding of MISS MARIE FREEMAN to FRANK ROBINSON at Pauls valley yesterday afternoon. Miss Freeman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. WILL FREEMAN, former Davis citizens. Mr. and Mrs. SHIRLEY ANDERSON and their two children returned home to Galveston after visiting with his parents, Mr. and rms. D. A. ANDERSON here. Shirley is employed in the valuation department of the Santa Fe. Mr. and Mrs. W. Y CHITWOOD had as their guests last Thursday and Friday: Mr. and Mrs. LUTHER CROWDER and son of Snyder, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. EAVES of Poolville, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. BRADY of Ardmore.
