The Commercial Club voted to raise $300 to advertise and secure manufacturing and industrial enterprises fro Davis. Good oak chairs were advertised for 35 cents each. The city council called for an election Oct. 27 to issue 30-year bonds of $25,00 (sic) for waterworks. 'With an up-to-date waterworks and electric lights all over our city, Davis will be the most attractive place of residence in the Chickasaw Nation,' editor Fay CROSSETT wrote. The Commercial Club 'landed' and 80-foot steel bridge for Wildhorse Creek. 'This bridge means, 5,000 additional bales of cotton for Davis,' CROSSETT said. Davis was receiving 60 to 80 bales of cotton a day. Emmanuel LOWENSTEIN, the talented pianist of Ardmore, taught music class in Davis."
