H. DAVIS, Frank P. STEDMAN and C. B. PULLEN represented our city at the inauguration of Gov. KERR. W. A. DELANEY, an Ada oil man, paid $10,000 for a Hereford cow sold at Roy TURNER's sale. The average price for bulls was $2,971 and cows, $1,966. The auction brought more money and higher perhead averages than any Hereford sale in the U. S. in the past 23 years. The Charley GRANT old place one mile north of Fort Arbuckle burned to the ground. Everett C. RUSSELL, James F. PLUMLEE, Troy L. MANTOOTH, Edwin E. SELBY, Thomas G. PALMER, Alvin O. LUNSFORD, Richard A. GENTRY, Glen D. DIGBY, Billie S. AYERS and L. D. STERLING were among 45 registrants from Murray County who left for induction into the Armed Services. Relatives of 1st Sgt. W. T. 'Dub' KELLY received word he was in French North Africa. Roy B. Jordan was in the signal corps 'somewhere' in North Africa.
