'More rent houses is the cry for the past 12 months and gets louder each month. Build some houses,' editor Fay CROSSETT wrote. J. C. LINDSEY sold his half interest in two lots on West Main Street -- the Klondike Corner and the FRAZIER lot -- to Dutch ADLER for $ 750. A 'fine cash register' was installed at City Drug Store. CROSSETT wrote: 'It is a handsome machine as well as an ingenious piece of mechanism. It automatically keeps a record of cash and credit sales, has an adding attachment, gives redeemable checks for the amount of each purchase and has other features.' C. E. WILCOx of Farmersville, Texas, was in partnership with Tom GREER and Will NEATHERY in a skating rink to be put in the C. S. LEEPER building. They promised a first class place -- one where ladies can go with safety. 'Skating has "taken" Texas and is now reaching in the Territory.' CROSSETT reported." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Murray County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/murray/murray.htm
