Allen Richardson officiating. Interment will be in Drake Cemetery with Fox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born January 24, 1908 in Birta, Ark. to William Noel Hale and Ida Robinson Hale, she died Monday, April 19 in Davis. A homemaker and member of the Dougherty Baptist Church, Mrs. Akers moved to Nebo in 1916 and had lived in Murray County since that time and in Dougherty since 1930. She enjoyed reading and making quilts. She is survived by a daughter, Armenta McWethey, Dougherty; four sons, Arlin Dee Akers, Sulphur, Harrel Akers and Johnny Douglas Akers, both of Dougherty and Darrel Akers, Big Canyon; one sister, Dollie Elmina Hale, Castle Rock, Colo.; one brother, David Edward Hale, Dougherty; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister and one brother, Johnny Elmer Hale. Pallbearers will be Monte Lucas, Hubert Fultz, Ray Brooks, John Atteberry, Keith Smith and L.E. Norton.
