Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Purcell with Cowley-Kiren Funeral Home of Sulphur officiating. Born Nov. 11, 1906 in Byars to John Jackson Barnes and Delia Kirkland, she died Friday, Feb. 20 at Artesian Nursing Home. She married Melvin (Dutch) Arnold on Nov. 6, 1929 in Maysville. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Arnold was raised on a farm in the Rosedale community and lived there until 1950 when the family moved to Sulphur where she lived the remainder of her live. She was a telephone operator for over 30 years. She was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Sulphur. She is survived by two daughters, Amerylys Maher, Ardmore and Melva Lou Russell, Prineville, Ore; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Leo and Eldred Barnes, both of Sulphur and Marvin Barnes, Stillwater. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband; two sons, Paul Walker and Roger Arnold; one granddaughter, Trusha Arnold; two sisters, Clovis Hughes and Blanche Drummond and one brother, Orel Barnes. Pallbearers were C. J. Jenkins, Josh Mize, Tim Russell, James Deatherage, and Jeff and Kurt Jones. Honorary bearers were Josh Jones, Eli and Dayton Mize, Derek and Taylor Sisson, R.
