"Dink" Bivins Services for Rodney M. "Dink" Bivins, 89, were held Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Davis. Brother Finis Steelman officiated at the service and DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was at the Foster Cemetery. Mr. Bivins was born September 25, 1913 in Foster to Henry Dexter and Mary Ann (Bass) Bivins. He died June 19, 2003 in Wynnewood. Dink was raised near Foster and attended school in Pernell. In 1933 he married Irene Dickson. She preceded him in death. In 1960 he married Pauline Spears and she preceded in him death in 2000. Dink was an oil field worker until his retirement in 1972. He loved his family, dancing, horses and cattle. He was an avid roper. Dink is survived by his children; Rex Bivins and his wife, Mary, Denton, Tex., Roger Bivins, Purcell, Alice Kennedy and Raymond, Purcell, and Kay Morgan and Aaron, Branson, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and one sister, Eron Hyslip, Oklahoma City. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Mug and one sister, Jane Hodges. Pallbearers were Brett Kennedy, Michael Morgan, Mark Morgan, Robbie Bivins, Sam Bivins and Josh Gandy.
