Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born July 3, 1950 in Sulphur to Roy Batson and Doris Virginia Goforth Batson, he died Tuesday, Jan. 17 in Sanger, Texas. He married Wynema Whitehorn on May 30, 1980 at Gainesville, Texas. He grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School. He lived in Ardmore and Davis several years before moving to Texas in 1985. He attended Rose State College in Midwest City. A member of the Church of the Rock in Carrollton, Texas, he was a general contractor. He also had served as Sulphur-Davis Elks Lodge manager in the late 1970's. Surviving are his wife, Wynema, of the home in Sanger, Texas; four daughters, Jera Batson, Rainey Batson, both of Sanger, Texas, Tiffany Moore, Flowermound, Texas and Cassie Batson, Norman; two sons, Nate McCoy, Winchester, Va. and Brock Batson, Leesburg, Va.; his parents, Roy and Virginia Batson, Davis; a brother, Kenneth Batson, Davis; a sister, Linda Kay Huckabaa, Choctaw and five grandchildren, Dylan Moore, Mack Moore, Dalton Jared Batson, Skyley Jo Batson and Ashton Wortham. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dalton Montana Moore. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
