Brett Selby and Chaplain Donna Compton officiating. Interment was in Washington Cemetery with Wilson-Little Funeral Home, Purcell in charge of arrangements. Born October 31, 1933 in Sulphur to Terry Billings and Myrtle Krouse Billings, he died Friday, March 5 in an Oklahoma City hospital. He grew up in Sulphur and graduated with the Sulphur High School class of 1953. After high school he attended one year of college before he married Lois Jean Chandler on November 23, 1955. Over the next 20 years the couple lived in towns in the Oklahoma City area. In 1975 they moved to Washington. He worked 28 years as a truck driver for Jones Truck Lines in Oklahoma City before retiring in the late 1980's. He also worked for the Washington School District in maintenance. He enjoyed coaching little league softball and was active in the school's vocational agriculture program, raising and selling animals to ag students. He was a member of the Purcell First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lee and Jay Billings. Surviving are his wife, of the home; two daughters, Robin Curran and husband, Tim, Moore and Terri Hinkle and husband, Richard, Oklahoma City; one sister, Ann Lee, Sulphur; one sister-in-law, Jane Billings, Sulphur; five grandchildren, Mandy, Samantha, Richard, Eliot and Sean and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Joe Johnston, C. D. Payne, Harry Boyd, Jerry Ille, Tom Dodson and Jackie Vaughn.
