Funeral services were April 26 at Krien Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Densman officiating. He was cremated. Chester was born June 23, 1942, in Altus. After graduating from Altus High School, he joined the service, serving four years in the Army with the 101st Airborne. He was a skilled carpenter. After retirement, he moved to Davis to be near his parents, who resided in Wynnewood. In 2004, Chester, due to health problems, moved to Springtown, Texas, to be close to three of his four children. He was a loyal friend and loved children. Chester was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Chester. He is survived by two sons, Robert Chester of Springtown and David Chester of Collinsville; a stepson, Raymond Brook of Blair; two daughters, Shera Chester and Kerri Thomas both of Springtown; two brothers, Jimmy Ray Chester of Wantga, Texas, and David Chester of Tulsa; two sisters, Ruth McBroom of Springer and Doris Maupin of Altus; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
