She was born. Sept 1, 1924 to Sarah Minnie & James Vester Hughes in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Bessie was the loving wife of Harold Craig whom she married November 12, 1942. Bessie was a devoted Christian & a member of the Capitol Hill Church of God for more than 45 years. Besides being a wife & a mother of eight children, Bessie held many jobs outside the home throughout the years, her favorite was taking care of babies at a local Day Care. She has always been known for her great homemade pies, cakes & cookies!! Everyone that stopped by her home knew there would be something good to eat & a wonderful person to set a plate on the table for them, she always had room for one more! She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters (Ethel Hill, Nella Murphy, Lucille Harris & Rachel Shelby) 3 brothers (Hershel, Jimmy, Virgil) & her loving husband of, 59 years, Harold Dement Craig. Survivors include 3 daughters Jean Jacobs & husband Randy, Glenda Buchanan, Joyce Passmore & husband Eigin; 5 sons, Harold Wayne, Floyd, LeRoy, Dennis & wife Judy, Jerry & wife Lenore; 8 grandchildren, Brad Ecton, Angela Ellis & husband Chris, Cynthia Lowe & husband Chad, Patrick, Amber Higdon & husband Ryan, Mike Smiley & wife Debbie, Brittany & Daniel; 5 great grandchildren & numerous nieces & nephews & friends. Funeral services will be 10 A.M Sept. 23rd at the Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, Oklahoma.
