(Springer) Dixon Services for Mildred C. (Springer) Dixon, 96, Davis, were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 16 at Hale's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Brown officiating. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery with Hale's Funeral Home of Davis in charge of arrangements. Born in Davis on December 3, 1909 to John B. and Minnie (Pullen) Springer, she died in Edmond on Monday, June 12. After graduating from Davis High School, she attended secretarial school in Ardmore, learning stenographer skills. She worked for the State of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City until the beginning of WW II, when she moved to Washington, D.C., working for the U.S. government in requisitioning supplies for troops going overseas. After the end of the war, she moved to Tulsa where she was employed by Sinclair Oil Company until her retirement, when she moved back to Davis to care for her elderly parents. She is survived by two sisters, Norene Rowe, Los Banos, Calif. and Doris Strain, Bogata, Texas; two nieces, Karen Whitaker, Alvardo, Texas and Edith Carlstone, Edmond; two nephews, Norman Hartness, Gaithersburg, Md. and Richard Rowe, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Bruce Springer, Davis and one sister, Lorene Hartness, Tulsa.
