Russell Vicars officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. James was born on August 31, 1923 in Maud to Grady Frederick and Lillie Hamby. He died on July 9, 2004 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. On June 23, 1933 he married Colleen Gentry in Sulphur. He was born in Maud and lived there and in Sulphur while growing up. He graduated from Sulphur High School in 1943 then lived in Oklahoma City from 1944 to 1955 and managed Humpty Dumpty Groceries. He moved to Sulphur in 1957 where he lived until recently when he moved to the Seminole Estates Nursing Home. He also operated Archie's Café in Sulphur for several years before retiring He is survived by his wife, of the home; one son, Ron and wife, Sue Frederick, Seminole; two grandchildren, Emily Barstow and husband, Todd, Coarsgold, Calif. and Darren Frederick and wife, Donna, Seminole; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla Barstow, Grace Barstow and Colin Frederick and one brother-in-law, Harold and wife, Louise Gentry, Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
