Paul McCollough and Michael Cooper officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Raymond was born to James Samuel Franklin and Ida May McCollough Franklin on Wednesday, March 21, 1917 in Colorado City, Texas and died Monday, September 8, 2003 in Norman. He married Verdeana Hughes on December 16, 1946 at Abernathy, Texas. He was worked as a farmer and truck driver and was affiliated with the Tanglewood Baptist Church in Jasper, Texas. Raymond grew up around Colorado City where he attended school. He served in the Marine Corp. from 1940 - 1945 during WWII. He lived in Jasper, Texas for several years and then moved to Norman in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Martha Franklin; three sisters and four brothers. Survivors are his wife, Verdeana Franklin, Norman; two daughters, Ellen Cooper, Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Reaona and Jim Senkel, Jasper, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Elbert and Kathy Franklin, Sulphur; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Judy Franklin, Van Alstyne, Texas; brother, Tom Franklin, Ravia; sister and brother in law, Cleo and Weldon Sage, Idalou, Texas; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kris Ellis, Michael Cooper, Bill Yates, Boyd Fant, Brian Cooper and Daniel Fant Honorary pallbearers were Rebecca Franklin, Angie Franklin, Stephanie Franklin, Misty Ellis, Kristen Franklin and Lori Yates.
