James Swain officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born September 28, 1922 in Nebo to Knox Gilbert and Dovie Eula Hill Gilbert, he died Thursday, Oct. 26 in Sulphur. On August 31, 1942, he married Minne Ola Norton in Sulphur. A retired OG&E serviceman and veteran of World War II in the Army, he had lived in this area all his life. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir. He also served as Sunday School Superintendent. Surviving are his wife, Minne, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Ken Sharp, Stillwater; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Randall and Sherry Gilbert, Mt. Vernon, Wash.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Fredia Gilbert, Sulphur and a sister, Analois Walker, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mineca Gilbert; three brothers, Donnie, Jerry and Delbert Gilbert and a sister, Lorene Beaver. Pallbearers were Kris Brinson, Hubert Cops, Major Clagg, Joe Wright, Cliff Hawkins and Joe Caudle.
