"Jim" George, 80, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Sept., 11 in Big Spring, Texas with Chaplain Walter McCall and Rev. Elwin Collom officiating. Interment followed at Trinity Memorial Park with Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home of Big Spring in charge of arrangements. Born July 27, 1926 in Dougherty to Robert L. and Mary (Musgrave) George, he died Thursday, Sept. 7 in Big Spring, Texas. He and Dean Stallcup were married on September 14, 1946 in Clovis, N. M. The couple was married 60 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was a coach for little league baseball for a number of years and led one team to win the Texas state championship. Survivors include his wife, Dean, of the home; one daughter, Gayle Graham, Tulsa; three sons, Lee George, Big Spring, Texas; three sons, Lee George, Big Spring, Texas, Michael George, Lakeland, Fla. and Dr. Cecil George, Ft. Stockton, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (George) Phelps, Pasadena, Texas; two nieces, Judy Hale and Dee Etta (Wallace) Bailey, both of Dougherty. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Maurice (George) Greer and Alice (George) White and one brother, Juke George. Pallbearers were Jerry Musgrove, David Roberts, Wendall North, Mike Moats, Mark Tissue and Mark Hyatt.
