Garland Services for Pasty J. Garland, 67, were held July 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Chapman and Rev. Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment was at Dougherty Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mrs. Garland was born January 23, 1936 in Dougherty to Charles (Chub) Saunders and Ettner Mae Duncan. She died on June 28, 2003 at the Oklahoma Heart Center in Oklahoma City. On February 4, 1966 she married Bob Garland in Shawnee. She was born in Dougherty then moved to Sulphur in 1966 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of Midway Hill Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse's aid at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital and the Oklahoma Veterans Center. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, fishing, bird watching, crocheting and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Bob Garland; three sons, Willard McCartney, Jr. and his wife, Liz, Dougherty, Billy Garland and his wife, Ladrina, Sulphur and Rodney Burdick, Sulphur; one daughter, Trisha Kirby and her husband, Randall, Sulphur; 11 grand children; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; six sisters, Mildred Allen, Sulphur, Mary Evelyn White, Kingman, Arz., Jeanie Clelland, Davis, Lona Kay Edwards, Dougherty, Betty Wilson, Norman, Linda Trett, Wynnewood; five brothers Otis (Bo) Saunders, Davis, Charles (Creed) Saunders, Sulphur, Harvey Lee Saunders, Sulphur, Andrew Ray (John) Saunders, Dougherty and Orval (Boog) Saunders, Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parent, Dewey and Temp Clements and one sister, Irene Amanda West. Pallbearers were Chad King, Shane King, Kyle King, Stephen McCartney, Rob Wilson and Tim Allen.
