Richmond Adams officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born August 5, 1911 in Lawton to Allen Zimmerman and Violet Clark Zimmerman, Mrs. Higgins died Sunday, Feb. 15 in Sulphur. She married Theodore Higgins on October 30, 1952 in Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was a retired teacher, having taught 35 years and was a member of the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Retired Teacher's Association, the Association of Retired Persons and Girl Scouts of America. She grew up in Lawton, but had lived in Sulphur since 1942. She graduated from Lawton High School and received her BA degree in education from Central State University in Edmond. She received her Master's degree from Oklahoma State University and taught at Cameron Elementary School in Sulphur for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Allie Verda McDonald and one granddaughter and husband, Jean Ann and David Bush, all of El Paso, Texas and a sister, Bessie Ruth Fredeen, Sulphur. Pallbearers were Calvin Agee, De Lannom, Ronnie Pierce, Darryl Carter, Tanner Chitwood and Bob Moody.
