Billy Ward officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hale's Fox Funeral Home, Davis. Born June 20, 1925 in Norman to John Ellis and Mary Charlotte (Veal) Gilbert, she died Sunday, July 24 in Davis. She married Obie Lee Hickman on June 13, 1941 in Murray County. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynda Gail and Tommy Trett; one son, Johnnie Lee Hickman; two brothers, Raymond and Hubert Gilbert and one granddaughter, Belinda Danker. She had lived in Sulphur before recently moving to Davis. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm near Drake. She had also worked for Beetle Plastic and was a cook at the Goddard Youth Camp. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Ronnie Jay Hickman, Sulphur; two brothers, John E. Gilbert, Hennepin and Norman C. Gilbert, Joy; four sisters, Inez Coffey, Davis, Clara Wallace, Oklahoma City; Delcine Young, Davis and Patsy Rilley, Wayne; nine grandchildren, Cindy Croissant, Christine Cox, Michelle Hickman, Mary Noland, Stormy Thomison, Sabra Pounds, Novella Red, Tomara Wright and Johnnie Lee Hickman, Jr.; 25 grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Murray County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/murray/murray.htm
