Surnames: Heaton Corse Woodruff Originally posted at:http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UaB.2ACI/1553 Gladys Eugenia Heaton Gladys Eugenia Heaton, 82, Davis died Friday, May 12 in Ardmore with Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She was born September 17, 1923 in Houston, Texas to George Frank and Nellie Mae (Woodruff) Corse. She attended college at Sam Houston State Teacher's College in Huntsville, Texas and three and one-half years at Baylor University. During WW II, she worked for five years as a civilian secretary with the Army Air Corps. She married Frank Heaton on June 17, 1952 in Waco, Texas. She moved to Davis from Premont, Texas on June 11, 1956 and remained there until her death. A devoted homemaker and mother, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Davis. Surviving are her husband, Frank; three daughters, Darlene Coll, Davis, Louise Parker, Sulphur and Judy Gibson, Davis; one brother, Kenneth Corse, Falfurrias, Texas; two sisters, Elba Oswalt, Waco, Texas and Nellie Jackson, Huntsville, Texas; four grandchildren, Eric Coll, Blake Gibson, Breanne Gibson, all of Davis and Jordan Allen, Sulphur and two great- grandchildren, Megan and Maci Coll, Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents.
