In his 24 years he loved abundantly and was well-loved. His wit and humor, somewhat skewed, made the last five very tough years bearable. His ability to laugh at himself made his illness less frightening to his friends. Andy's big laugh was easily provoked and hard to stop, according to some of his teachers. Andy's heart was also very big. He had a passion for helping the people of Mexico. He started as a young teen going on mission trips there to build houses and over the years he became fluent in Spanish and led other church groups' mission trips. Andy was a humble servant and never thought himself above those he helped. While on one mission trip he met a sick little girl living in abject poverty without the necessary medicines and treatment. Andy "adopted" her and used money donated for his medical bills to build a home for her and her mother. He tried to keep in touch with her and sent money for her care. The last four years he was content and happy because of his fiancee Katie. Katie was everything to Andy. Her unconditional love was always there for him as she patiently and bravely cared for him. Since March she has put her life on hold to constantly be beside him. Andy was proud to have prepared a beautiful home for their planned future. Those who loved him and anxiously await the reunion in Glory are: parents, Greg and Teresa Leming-Hart and Tony Hail; brothers, Tony Hail and Max Hart; fiancee, Kate Ann Corgill; grandparents, Mabel Leming, Hubert and Melba Hail and Gene and Myrna Hart. Each and every day we will miss Andy but we do not grieve as those who have no hope but we rest assured that in being absent from the body he is present with the Lord. It's natural to ponder "why?" or the unfairness of his death but these will remain a mystery in this fallen world. Our family has been carried through all the rough times by God who alerted us to Andy's illness when his doctor said he was fine. God gave us strength and made all the trips to many doctors and hospitals in several states possible. Andy found a closeness to God and saw incredible support and love from so many people that when he gave his testimony he said if given the choice to go through it all again that he would. A very sincere thanks to the few very special doctors who went far and above the normal standard of care: Dr. Robert and Mrs. Linda Stepp; Dr. David Levine; Dr. Lisa Syzek and Dr. Carl Bogardis. They gave so much of themselves to care for Andy and the family. To honor Andy's life by helping treat sick children and hopefully find a cure, we ask that memorials be sent to St. Jude's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Attn: Memorials Dept. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Murray County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/murray/murray.htm
