Eddie Malphrus officiating. Hale's Funeral Home of Davis will be in charge of arrangements. Born September 6, 1917 to Oscar and Mary Mellisa (Rolin) Haley, he died Saturday, June 3 in Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Everett Haley; two sisters, Alma Biggs, Hazel Baldwin and two stepsons, Joey and Jeff Beatley. During the early years of WW II, Curtis worked for the Douglas Aircraft Co. at Tinker Field Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, where he won many awards for the design of state-of-the-art aircraft subsystems on the C-47. He later served in the U.S. Navy during the final year of WWII aboard the USS Wheeler. In 1946, he was employed at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City where he worked as a power plant superintendent. He retired in 1971, moving to Davis where he owned and operated an auto salvage for many years. He enjoyed family, friends, gardening and raising cattle and especially those times with his "buddies" at the morning coffee table in Davis. Surviving are a son, Keith Curtis Haley and wife, Gail, Edmond; a daughter, Sheryle Lynn Walraven and husband, Alan, Bowie, Texas; a sister, Evelyn Flowers, Boyd, Texas and a brother, Oscar and wife, Nellie, Modesto, Calif.; stepchildren, Elizabeth Pierce and husband, Lee Roy, Davis, Lisa Eakin and husband, Scotty, Bonnie Cochren, Linda Lantz, Becky Collins, Kevin Beatley and John Beatley; step grandson, Jason Fleming; step great-grandson, J. J. Fleming and numerous other relatives and friends.
