Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born in Nebo on November 17, 1925 to Roscoe and Nola (Teague) Jernigan, he died Tuesday, March 28 at his residence in Sulphur. He grew up and attended school at Oak Grove. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. On September 27, 1981, he married Mary Rochelle at Gainesville, Texas. The couple made their home in Sulphur and he was a self-employed brick mason. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Mary, of the home; four daughters, Barbara Duty and husband, Phil, Atoka, Melody Fisher, Candi Rochelle and Bobbie Sledd, all of Sulphur; one son, Johnny Woods, Sulphur; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Shawn Rochelle; one sister, Ruby Hodge; four brothers, Walter, Charles, Jack and Homer Jernigan and one grandson. Pallbearers were Dustin Payne, T. J. Payne, Doug Payne, Michael Rochelle, Rick Larson and Johnny Rochelle.
