Billy Ward officiating. Interment was in Drake Cemetery, Sulphur, with Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born December 4, 1941 in Nebo to Wesley Henry and Martha Jane (Tynes) Kirby, Jr., he died Monday, July 10 in Oklahoma City. He grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1960. He later completed two years of college at Oklahoma State University. He and Shirley Priddy were married on November 11, 1960 at Ada. In 1961 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and on aboard a ship off the coast of Cuba during the Bay of Pigs crisis. He later served a tour of duty in Viet Nam. He received an honorable discharge in 1964 and worked for the Miller Brewing Company in Oklahoma City for 25 years. He later returned to cross- country trucking in 1988. The couple moved back to Sulphur in 1992. He enjoyed his grandchildren, Saturday morning's Men's Breakfast and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Shirley, of the home; his father and stepmother, Wesley and Thelma Kirby, Ardmore; one son, Donal Gene Kirby, Jr. and wife, Jacie, Sulphur; three daughters, Mikki Gutierrez and husband, Paul, Oklahoma City, Tammy Pierson and husband, James, Choctaw and Kymberly Hammond and husband, Scott, Pt. Huron, Mich.; one sister, Shirley Garcia and husband, Max, Sulphur; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Freddie Lee Kirby. Pallbearers were Steve Norton, Steve Tully, Louis Lusk, Junior Norton, Robert Price, Carol Don Stevens and Max Garcia. Honorary bearers were Jim Jo Binderim, Mark Garcia, Denny Ray Binderim, Christopher Maletesta and Bryan Kirby.
