All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Shiloh District Cemetery--Windsor CA Santa Rosa Press Democrat Published on April 18, 1995 RUTHELLA LAUGHLIN Ruthella Laughlin, described as the heart and soul of her family, died Saturday at a Santa Rosa hospital after a short illness. She was 71. She was born in Mill Creek, Okla., and came to Sonoma County from Sulphur, Okla., 44 years ago. She was a Santa Rosa resident. Laughlin was a homemaker. She worked about five years at the Green Mill Inn in Cotati. "She had an extended family. Many considered her sister, mother and grandmother," said her daughter, Gloria Moniot of Santa Rosa. "She mixed well with people. She was always there. She did anything for anyone and never asked anything in return." She and her husband, Samuel Laughlin, were married about 35 years. Laughlin liked to garden, especially tending her roses. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Healdsburg Grange. Besides her husband and daughter, she is survived by her daughters, Betty Raney of Lakeport, and Alice Bianchi of Santa Rosa; sons, Larry Chapman, Alan Laughlin, and William Laughlin, all of Santa Rosa; step-daughter, Elaine Laughlin of San Diego; step-son, Stanley Laughlin of Santa Rosa; nine grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Friends can visit from noon to 8 p.m. today at Daniels Chapel of the Roses in Santa Rosa. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, 1225 Sonoma Ave. Burial will be at Shiloh District Cemetery in Windsor.
