Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Wayne Edgar officiating. Interment was in Earth Memorial Cemetery in Earth, Texas with Krien Funeral Home of Sulphur in charge of arrangements. Born to Austin and Bernice Latham he died Saturday, July 2 after a three- year fight against kidney cancer. He grew up in Earth, Texas and graduated from Springlake-Earth High School. He married Julia Varner Jones in 1963 at Muleshoe, Texas. The couple moved to Oklahoma in 1970. He spent over 25 years as a rancher in the Roff area. The last 10 years he spent in the Sulphur area where he was a past owner and operator of the Sulphur Farm and Ranch Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sulphur. Surviving are his mother, Berniece Latham, Lubbock, Texas; his wife, Julia, of the home in Sulphur; two sons, Clint Latham and his wife, Marla, Norman and Mike Latham and his wife, Stacy, Sulphur; one daughter, Caryn Chung and husband, James, San Jose, Calif.; one brother, Gaylord Latham, Muleshoe, Texas; one sister, Linda Hunt, Lubbock, Texas; six grandsons and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father, Austin Latham; one daughter, Clarissa Latham and one brother, Randy Latham. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Tidwell, Randy Porter, Jay McClure, Jim Freeman, Keith Gray, Mark Tully, Fuzz Kennedy, Terrell Billings, Dan Hughes, Pete Jones, David McClure and Harold Gentry.
