The service will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Davis First United Methodist Church. Personal comments or stories are invited. A family service at the Dougherty Cemetery will conclude arrangements. Krien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lowther was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Dougherty to Pearl (Wright) and John Henry Samples. She died at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital Feb. 26, 2004. She attended the Oklahoma College for Women, Chickasha, and after World War II, she and her husband, Olen Lowther, operated the revitalized Davis Bus Station, located in what is now City Hall. When the Davis Bus Station was downrated by Oklahoma Transportation, Mrs. Lowther became the only woman in Oklahoma to run a vending machine company. After losing thousands of dollars of equipment in the 1962 fire that destroyed the famous Artesian Hotel in Sulphur, she opened Faye's Dress Shop in Sulphur, a business for which she was a natural. She is survived by her only child, Michael Lowther of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Edwin of Dougherty and Kenneth Samples of Davis, and several grandchildren, including David and Alex Lowther, Faye Marie (Samples) Farmer, Michael Samples and Amy (Samples) Elias. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, J.H. Jr., and husbands, Olen Lowther and Hugh Brodrick. The family requests that any memorials be made to the charity of their choice or to the Faye Lowther Memorial College Scholarship fund. The fund will provide assistance to deserving Davis High School seniors for college expenses. Donations can be sent to the Faye Lowther Memorial College Scholarship Fund, c/o Edd McNeil, P.O.
