Lowder Bill G. Lowder of Sulphur passed away on August 25, 2005 in St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76. He was born October 7, 1928 to Lonnie and Willie Rae (Oliver) Lowder, in Wetumka, Ok. He attended Wetumka and Holdenville schools, where he excelled at basketball and football. Bill made All-State Basketball in 1948 and after high school went to the University of Tulsa on a basketball scholarship. Bill married Pamela June Dowlen on March 4, 1951 in Walters, Oklahoma. He served during the Korean Conflict in the 45th Infantry Division, 171st Field Artillery, Battery C. Bill was hired by Halliburton to play semi-pro basketball and after the team was dissolved he became a machinist, and eventually became the shop foreman at the Davis plant. Bill was baptized at the First Christian Church in Holdenville. He loved genealogy, fishing, hunting, and water sporting events. He was a member of the VFW, founding member of the Sooner Retriever Club, an active member of North Texas Retriever Club, Ducks Unlimited and dedicated to wildlife conservation and preservation. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pamela, two sisters Wanda Faye (Lowder) Alsup, and Maudine (Lowder) Gayer. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Katie Lowder and Juan Rodriguez of Bartlesville, Gloria and Mike Davis of Spiro, and one son Don Ray and Sharon Lowder of Blackwell, one brother Dale and Sue Lowder of Celina, Texas, and one sister Virginia Lowder Adair of LaMarque, Texas and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at First Christian Church in Holdenville with Kevin Warden officiating. Pallbearers were Casey Lowder, Keith Ingram, Richard Cobb, Crag Cobb, Mike Davis and Alvin Bible. Honorary pallbearers will be the Holdenville High School Classes of 1947 and 1948 and the 45th Infantry Division. Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery, under the direction of Hudson- Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville. ========= Duncan Banner 29 Aug 2005 Bill G.
