Limke A Celebration of Life service was conducted for Gilbert L. Limke, 72, at the First Baptist Church, 901 West Division St., Sulphur at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 2 with the Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment was held at the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh. Born January 4, 1932 to Henry Edward and Ida Cone Harmon, Limke in Trousdale, he went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 28, 2004. He married Billie Jean Kieffer on July 3, 1952 in Tecumseh. He served in the National Guard and in the Armed Services from 1951-53 during the Korean Conflict. He attended East Central University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and his Masters Degree in Administration. He began his teaching career in Sulphur High School in 1961, served as Junior High Principal, Athletic Director, Assistant to the Superintendent and Temporary Superintendent, retiring in 1990. He was a Member and Deacon who loved his church family at First Baptist Church. He especially enjoyed lively church music and his Sunday School class. He is remembered as a devoted husband to his wife, of the home, loving and caring Dad to his three children and their spouses, Keith and Karen Limke, Yukon, Kirk and Laurie Limke, Edmond and Kathy and Buck LeGrand, Stillwater and an adoring PaPaw to his grandchildren, Ryan Scott and Raena Shae Limke, Yukon, Megan Joy and Madison Lee Limke, Edmond, Abby Jae LeGrand, Stillwater and Ryan Buck LeGrand, Chicago, Ill., Adam Whitefield, Yukon, Eric and April Williams, Mustang, Ryan Lynn and Brooke Whitefield, Yukon. He loved and was loved by two brothers and their wives, Harley and Jeannette Limke, Choctaw, Ralph and Bessie Limke, Oklahoma City. Also brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joe and Elaine Kieffer, Wanette and a multitude of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother-in-law, Dorene and Floyd Williams. Pallbearers were Rod Limke, Todd Limke, Scott Limke, Mike Limke, Larry Limke and Daniel and David Kieffer. Honorary bearers was the Cleveland Cobb Sunday School Class. Cowley-Krien Funeral Home directed the services.
