All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Morrel, Jack C. 1920 - 2005 Jack Colbert Morrel, 85, passed away Friday, June 17, 2005. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington. Burial: private. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Arlington Funeral Home. Jack was born March 1, 1920, in Davis, Okla., and was raised in Milford. He entered the army in 1938 and was part of the 1st Calvary, 82nd Field Artillery horse drawn unit. He transferred to Fort Sill, Okla., as a motor sergeant trainer, before transferring to the Aviation Cadets, 3rd Air Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1946. An Arlington resident for 54 years, he was a member and church elder of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington. A man who loved repairing things, Jack was employed by various car dealerships in Arlington as a mechanic, until he joined the U.S. Postal Service in 1970. He retired as lead postal mechanic in 1985. After retirement, he remained an avid tennis player and pitched for the Arlington Spurs Senior softball team for 15 years. Survivors: Wife of 61 years, Octavia L. Morrel of Arlington; sons, John R. Morrel and wife, Bahi of The Colony, Steve L. Morrel and wife, Catherine of El Paso; daughter, Sarah E. Morrel of Arlington; grandsons, Kourosh Faridian of San Diego, Taylor Morrel of El Paso; and granddaughter, Corine Morrel of Arlington.
