Bob Moody officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born March 6, 1918 to Claude Rose and Myrtle Burchanan Rose, she died Saturday, April 30 in Gainesville, Fla. She married George Powell of June 4, 1938. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2001. She had lived in this area all of her life, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1936. She and her husband were cattle ranchers and she was a member of the First Christian Church and the PEO Bridge Club. Surviving are a daughter, Kaye Powell, Sulphur; three grandchildren, James Toby and Catherine Powell, Gainesville, Fla. and Jeana Hickman, Sulphur; three great grandchildren and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, H. F. Woody and Marie Woods, Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lynn Lewis and Georgia Harper.
