Dwight Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, Davis, with Hale's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Born March 8, 1928 to James Clyde and Gertrude (Carson) Pierce in Alma, he died Sunday, Feb. 5 in Sulphur. A 1946 graduate of Fox High School, he served from 1950 to 1952 in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska. After his service in the Army, Mr. Denton and Norma "Geraldine" Erickson were married on November 9, 1952 in Duncan. They had been married for 53 years. He retired from the Eddie Johnson Oil Field Service as a truck driver in the mid 1990's. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was known as a master mechanic when it came to lawn mowers and small engines. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine, of the home; three daughters, Cleta Williams, Sulphur, Diann Glannvill and husband, Dwight, Homer, Alaska and Drenda Reason and husband, Pete, Deer Park, Texas; two sons, Dean "Brillo" Pierce and wife, Lori, Davis and Mikel "Ajax" Pierce and wife, Thye, Wynnewood; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Pierce, Sibilo, Texas; and one sister, Jan Binnicker, Englewood, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Norma; two brothers, Dick and Norris and one granddaughter, Becky Lynn Reasor. Pallbearers will be David and Grant Glannvil, Heath Williams, Dwight, Justin and Trey Pierce and Jeremy Steerman.
