Paul Pruitt Services for S. Paul Pruitt, 69, were held July 10, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Malphrus officiating. Interment was at Dougherty Cemetery under the direction of Cowley-Krien Funeral Home. Mr. Pruitt was born on December 22, 1934 in Davis to Ed Pruitt and Pearl Nina Willis. He died on July 7, 2004 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. On September 20, 1953 he married Shirley Young in Guthrie. He was born in Davis, attended school in Sulphur, Davis, and Dougherty, graduating from high school in Dougherty. He served in the Army, then worked at the crushed stone business in Oklahoma, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina, retiring in 2000. He then moved back to Sulphur where he lived the remainder of his life. He is survived by his wife, of the home, two sons, Perry Pruitt, Hennepin, and Jerry and wife, Rhonda Pruitt, Prince George, Va.; one daughter, Paula Carter and husband, Bobby, Tulsa; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Ritter, Amanda Pruitt, Jana Pruitt and Paul Edward Arthur Pruitt; one great grandchild, R.J. Pruitt; one brother, J.L. Pruitt, Sulphur and one sister, Dorothy Garrett, Tuscon, Ariz.
