RUSSELL Mrs. Effie Juanita Russell, 77, 1024 West 18th died May 21 at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Russell was the wife of Houston Russell, prominent County Rancher. The Russells moved to Murray County 24 years ago from Harmon County. Born Sept. 4, 1895, in Waxahatchie, Texas. Mrs. Russell had lived in Oklahoma since a small child. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Faris Weaver, Pastor, officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery with the Dunn Funeral Home in charge. During her residence in Sulphur, Mrs. Russell was an active member of the First Methodist Church, The Eastern Star and the Sulphur Flower Club. Surviving are her husband, Houston Russell, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. J.B. Best, Sulphur; a brother, Vandry Finley, Sulphur; a sister Mrs. C.C. Brookman, Laverne, California; Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Roy Lee Russell. Pallbearers at the service were A.G. Rolen, Forrest McMurtry, Don Cowley, R.A. Jennings, Jack Hunt and John Sparks.
