Arrangements are under the direction of Krien Funeral Home, Davis. She has lived in Sulphur for about five years and has been recognized for her most unusual abilities with culinary arts, quilt making, and creating beautiful lifelike dolls. She was also known for her cheerful attitude and upbeat personality in the face of an incurable cancer. Born on January 1, 1936 in Paden to George Elmer Haley and Aquilla Pearl Van Cleave Haley, she died Monday, Sept. 20 in Davis. She married John Matthew Schoefer on March 30, 1963. She is survived by her husband, John, who lives at a Veterans Center in California; a daughter, Betsy Rene Howard, and her husband, Clay, Norman; seven brothers, James Haley and his wife, Maxine, Granite Bay, Calif., Don Haley and wife, Carolyn, Sulphur, Reese Haley and wife, Donna, West Point, Utah, Steve Haley and wife, Carol, Sayer, Richard Haley and wife, Vicky, Shawnee, Philip Haley and wife, Faye, Gridley, Calif. and Will Haley and wife, Viza, Carter; four sisters, Geneva Bywater and her husband, Tom, New Fairfield, Ct., Norma Haley, Rocklin, Calif., Julia Plum, Davis and Jayne Matter, Stilwell. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Ann, who was born and died in 1970; two brothers, Glenn Allen Haley and Carol Vance Haley.
