Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Mrs. Staggs was born Sunday, July 13, 1913 in Olney, Texas to Pascal Shaver Claiborne and Hattie Elizabeth Bearden Claiborne. She died on Thursday, July 10, 2003 in Sulphur. On October 22, 1933she married Cecil L. Staggs in Texas. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1981. She grew up in Texas and graduated from Happy High School in Happy, Texas. She moved to this area in 1957. She had been a foster grandmother for several years and was a member of the Red Oak Home Extension Club. She was a housewife and was affiliated with the the First Baptist Church, Davis. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Neta Jo and Larry Palmer, Sulphur, Gail and Mike Hunter, Sulphur and Anna Lee and Bobby Joe Smith, Stratford; one sister Georgia Marie Sambol, Plainview, Texas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters. Pallbearers were Larry Vinson, Eddie Ray Tomlinson, Ed Best, David Pittman, Allen "Butch" Hill and J.C. Grantham.
