Taliaferro J.C. Taliaferro, 63, of Davis died March 13, 2005, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Services are (today) Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Finis Steelman officiating. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery. Taliaferro was born April 6, 1941, in Elk City to Anna Francis (Steffgen) and John Curtis Taliaferro. He grew up and attended school through the 12th grade in Foss. He lived in Texas and later Elk City, where he met and married Janice Aline Pruitt in 1959 in Elk City. When his construction work brought him to Davis, he fell in love with the community, and he and Janice moved to Davis in 1967 and raised their three children. He lived every day as he wanted. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan. His wife missed reading the game schedule once, causing him to miss a football game. He never depended on her to read the schedule again. He will be remembered for loving his family, his community, young people and doing things for his friends, of which he had many. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Taliaferro. He is survived by his wife; his mother of Tecumseh; sons, M.C. Taliaferro and James Taliaferro, both of Davis; daughter, Tina Jean Wells of Ada; sister, Alene Topping of Tecumseh; six grandchildren, and one great- grandchild. Pallbearers will be Joe Puckett, Kevin Birch, Scotty Peters, David Woods, Virgil Betterton, Loui Harman, Brian England and Shane England. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Birch, Cavin Jones, Buddy Tucker, James Hefley, Jim Busby and Howard Brantley.
