Taylor Services for Joe. M. Taylor, 72, Sulphur, were held at Sulphur United Methodist Church on Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Emery Mason officiating. Interment was held at Lowrance Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Joe was born to John R. Taylor and Greyce Pauline Brown Taylor on Saturday, July 25, 1931 in Shawnee. He died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 in Sulphur. He came to Sulphur as a small child, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1950. He married Patricia Lowrance on July 27, 1954 in Davis. He joined the Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He retired as plant supervisor with Dolese Co. after 43 years of service and was affiliated with Sulphur United Methodist Church. He worked with the youth in the church for several years. He also served as Chaplain for the Boy Scouts. Survivors are his wife, Pat, Sulphur; two sisters, Max Nowell, Wynnewood and Bobbie House, Oklahoma City and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lyonel Taylor and a sister, Johnnie Sue Beard. Pallbearers were Rick McNeil, Gerald Jackson, Robert Jackson, John Staples, Dr. G.T. Easley, J.B. "Sonny" Bright and John Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were United Methodist Men.
