A private funeral service for Nellie Christine Tanner, 67, Davis, 
will be scheduled at a later date. A cremation with burial will also 
be scheduled later. Krien Funeral Home of Davis is in charge of 
arrangements.

Born November 14, 1938 in Newnan, Ga., she died Saturday, Jan. 13 at 
Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore.

She is survived by three sisters, Mary Meadows, Ruth Mae Murphy and 
Estelle Farmer, all of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Deborah S. 
Whitmire, Cuming, Ga., Kathy S. McClure, Marietta, Ga. and Wanda S. 
Jenkins, Jacksonville, Ga.; two sons, Danny Smith, Glenville, Ga. and 
James Smith, Jr., Cartersville, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Tanner in 2006; her 
parents, James Ernest and Nellie Lee (Short) Jacobs and seven 
brothers and sisters.
