Trett Jessie C. Trett, 51, of Moore died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003. Services were Dec. 19 at the First Baptist Church in Dougherty with Pastor Willard "Chopper" McCartney and hospice chaplain Harry Smith officiating. Burial was at Dougherty Cemetery. Trett was born Jan. 27, 1952, to Opal Marie (Callis) and Doris Howard Trett. He grew up in the Dougherty and Sulphur areas and graduated from Sulphur High School. He married Shirley Ann Henry on Jan. 16, 1970, at Sulphur. Trett served with the Oklahoma Army National Guard during the Vietnam Conflict from Jan. 8, 1973, until Jan. 1, 1979, and was discharged with the rank of E5 buck sergeant. He was awarded Expert Badge with Rifle Bar. While living in Sulphur as a young man, he trained and raced quarter horses, which he loved. He and his family moved to Tulsa in 1976 when he became employed with Tulsa Rock/Anchorstone Company. They lived there for the next 21 years before moving to Davis in 1999 to be near his family due to his health. In May 2002, they moved to Moore to be closer to his doctors and hospital and were living there at the time of his death. Trett was a member of the Tiawaha Community Baptist Church of Claremore and the Horseman's Association. He was a union steward for the Local 627 Operating Engineers from 1977 to 2001. He loved coon hunting, deer hunting, fishing and being with his family. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Roger Thomas "Tommy" Trett. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Vickie Llynn Trett-Charles and three grandchildren, Shelby, Trett and Kenady Charles, all of Collinsville; four brothers, Don Robert Trett of Broken Arrow, Arnold "Fat" Trett of Sulphur, Joe Trett, Wynnewood and Harlie Trett of Allen, and a sister, Gail Todd of Connerville.
