"Al" Williams went to be with God on January 18, 2003. He was born December 4, 1923 in Whitesboro, TX, the son of Exa Mae Williams Akers and Clyde Akers. He was a 1942 graduate of Dougherty High School in Dougherty, OK. Al retired from the Harris Meat Packing Company after 35 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sarah Edna Williams of the home; daughter, Pam Williams of LA; a sister and brother-in law, Velma and Fred Russell of Gerty; two sisters-in law, Lynn Myatte of OKC and Juanita Bush of CA; many loving nephews and nieces including Gary Carr of OKC, Phyllis Brotherton of CA, and Kenny Brotherton of Claremore; two adopted grandchildren, Darrin and Kristi Lewis; and numerous other close family members. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Lynn Williams. He was a faithful servant in three OKC churches, Kentucky Ave Baptist, Sunnyside Baptist, and currently the Southern Hills Baptist Church. Al Williams was a committed Christian, loving family man, a wonderful storyteller, and a man of simple pleasures with a keen sense of humor who brought joy to all who knew him. We will miss him greatly. Memorial donations may be made to Mission Mailbag, an interdenominational missions ministry, PO Box 7314, Moore, OK 73153-7314. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at the Southern Hills Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
