Our Oldest Mother Dies 
Less than two laps from the goal, Mrs. Pernetty Chamberlain was beaten by death last night in a brave 
attempt to pass the century mark. The 98-year-old woman died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dora 
Bradshaw, 954 South K Street, at 7:15 o'clock following a brief illness. 
Mrs. Chamberlain is survived by five daughters and a son, George. The daughters are Mrs. Mary 
Duckworth, Okmulgee, Mrs. Mattie Cobb, Braggs, Mrs. Emma Smith, and Mrs. Bradshaw. 
The woman is believed to have been the oldest mother in Muskogee. 
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Petering-Leacher funeral home. Burial will 
be in Greenhill cemetery
