Mr. Hearrell, 79, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 2, 2001) at his daughter's home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Garden Fund, 1900 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501. He was born Dec. 6, 1921, in Muskogee, Okla., a son of George James and Clara Rebecca (Coldiron) Hearrell. He lived in Oklahoma and Kansas until 1937, when the family moved to Hemet, Calif., where he graduated from high school in 1939. On Dec. 3, 1954, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Marjorie Trunnell, who survives. Mr. Hearrell was a builder in Southern California, constructing homes, schools and government buildings. He and his wife moved to Medford in 1960, and purchased Pulver's Motel in partnership with his wife's brother and sister-in-law. After selling the motel, he owned and operated The Steak Out dinner house. He then went back to building homes. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Hearrell was a member of the First Christian Church, the Masons and Elks Lodge, and was a former member of the Home Builders Association. After his retirement, he and his wife became full-time RVers for 17 years. He enjoyed his family, fishing and fly-tying, sculpting and silversmithing. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Frank Douglas, Junction City; two daughters, Cathy Dorsey, Medford, and Renee Linscott, Zanesville, Ohio; three sisters, Twila Merrick, Oroville, Calif., Georgie Botte, San Diego, and Ruth Smith, Auburn, Wash.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
