Dear Sir: In answer to your of November 19--. My father Indian name is Ah-gah-loo-ga(ya), the English is Whirlwind. My mother’s Indian name is Chu-go-na-le, her English name Nellie. My sister, Annie Ridge, is your application # 5606 & 1573- Mrs. Love Youngdeer and Nancy Saw-la-fee, both near Oaks, Oklahoma knew my people and came from Cherokee Nation East with them. Respectfully, Susie Davis Writers: Martin Squirrel TRANSCRIBER NOTES In the book ‘Cherokee by Blood’, volume 2, pg. 34, it states that Susie Davis is sister to Miller application # 1573, which is Henry Muskrat, who is actually Susie’s sister, Annie Ridge’s, son. So Susie is Aunt to Miller Application # 1573. Anyone with Henry’s miller application, I would love to make sure of this connection. (I’ve yet to obtain his or his mothers.) I’ve yet to figure out exactly who the grandparents are that are mention in the attached letter, "I claim on the share of both father and mother side."
