P. 2137) Misc. Test. P. 2137-No. 856, 42254, 42222, 21609-Peter O. Suagee: "My name is Peter Suagee, 21609, is my brother, and David and Viola Johnson are my nephew and niece, 42222. They all claim through the same source. I am 36 years old. I live near Lenapah,- have lived there 8 years. - previous to that in the Delaware District where I was born. I was enrolled by the Dawes Commission. I was enrolled by the Daws Commission as a Cherokee and Roll no. 13482. My brother was also enrolled, by the Daws Commission, as a Cherokee. David Johnson was also enrolled by the Daws Commissioner, Cherokee No. 16230. I was born in Lenpas, near the Missouri line, in Oklahoma. I was enrolled in 1880 by the officials of the Territory. I claim through both father and mother. My mother ws Nancy Seven. She is dead. She died in 1880, or 1881. She was living in the Delaware District. I don't know whether she was born in the Cherokee Nation or not. All my grandparents on my mother's side came from North Carolina. Both her parents were Cherokee Indians. Grandmother Nelly Seven. They came here when they were moved from the old country. I do not know whether my grandparents wer parties to the treaties or not. I do not know whether they went to Arkansas to not when they first came. I think they were enrolled in 1851. I do not know whether they ever received any payments. They never associated with any other tribe of Indians, that I know of. My mother's people were not on the Old Settler's Roll, and never received any money as Old Settlers. "My father was Stan W. Suagee. He came from North Carolina. I think he was born ion `1846. He settled in the Delaware District and stayed there. He claimed that they enrolled him somewhere. I do not know how long he has been living here., I think about 1876 he was enrolled. Probably 1880 or 1886 he was appointed as one of the Census enrollers. He was enrolled by the Daws Commission as a Cherokee. I don't remember his number. I do not know that he ever had any other name. My father's name was Da-ke-do-ga, or English Suagee. My grandfather on my father's side was Wilson Suagee, and his wife Darcus Suagee. He, my father, claimed through both father and mother." Signed: P. C.
