My uncles and aunts are all dead, and I only know the Indian names which I have given. They were all living in 1851 and all have died since that time. *My father’s name is on the Pension Roll as Same Teta-ansky *(This notation is on the second application made out, they are calling it application # 19141/2. Not really any added information from this second application, it is basically blank.) Walkingstick, who is also duly sworn: "My name is Jack Sawney. I was born in Flint District, 1864. I was enrolled by the Dawes Commission under the name of Jack Sawney, # 19022. I was enrolled as a full blood Cherokee. My father’s Cherokee name was Sah-nee Dee-dah-nuh-skee. My mother’s maiden name if Sallie Arch and her Cherokee name was Ah-quah-ta-kee. My parents were born in the Old Nation in the East. The grandfather on my father’s side was Oo-kee-tah-lee. My grandmother’s name was Ga-dah-ga-wee. My grandparents were born in the Old Nation in the East. None of my ancestors through whom I claim ever received any Old Settler money. I received a strip payment. Neither I nor any of the ancestors through whom I claim have ever associated with any tribe of Indians other than Cherokees. In 1851 my grandparents on my mother’s side were living in Flint District. I don’t remember whether any of my people on my mother’s side were enrolled in the Old Nation or not. (See Flint District 513) My father’s mother was Co-ta-ca-we. My father had a sister named Che-lon-e-che. Lydia Liver, # 2831, is my brother’s daughter. She is my niece. Sawney, # 6238, is my father.
