She died February 24, 1983, in an Anchorage, Alaska, Hospital. Funeral services were held February 18 in the First United Methodist Church in Weleetka with Rev. Elmer BERRYHILL and Rev. Jay D. JACKSON officiating. Pallbearers were Cliff JONES, Billy KING, Jonas DUNSON, A. J. SHIRLEY, Sonny McKINNEY, Chief HARJO, and Shot HARJO. Honorary pallbearers were Nat MARSHAL, Slick WARE, Sammy MARSHAL, Joe BROWN, Roy PUCKETT, Elmer MARTIN, and Gene DUNSON. Interment was in the Weleetka Hillcrest Cemetery. She was a 1941 graduate of Weleetka High School and was employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a land officer in Juneau, AK, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Riley AUTRY and Fannie Robinson AUTRY. (Her father preceded her in death and her mother died the day before her funeral.) She is survived by a daughter, Camille JOHNSON of Wetumka; a brother, Mel AUTRY of Bokchito; a sister, Callie Janie MASCHAL of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Linda JOHNSON, and Aaron JOHNSON; and a host of relatives.
